“Boreal” marks the reencounter of Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos with Perico Sambeat – talented musician with a significant international reputation – in the triple role of composer, musical director and soloist.
After a first collaboration with Sambeat over fifteen years ago, in a concert dedicated to spanish jazz at Casa da Música, and a joint endeavour into the universe of Ornette Coleman in 2021, the big band from Matosinhos is now completely immersed in the musical imagery of this reference of contemporary jazz.
